No One Says No To Angel!

Daughters are an extreme blessing. I really feel pity and sorrow for a mother with only sons.

We have four daughters and three sons.

The old saying that "A son is a son until he takes wife. A Daughter is a Daughter ALL of her life."

This is very TRUE!

The Power of the Father!

Every father that has daughter, or that is expecting a daughter needs to read Stephen King, "Firestarter" or watch it -- and watch "The Game Plan" watch "Iphigenia"

When my wife contracted a tropical disease from our cat, and lost 50 pounds in less than two months due uncontrolled diarrhea; she would not listen to me and my attempts to get her to hospital.

I finally called our baby daughter, Angel, she was 35 at the time. She and I arrived at the house at the same time. Angel, immediately seized control of the situation. Gathered her mother up, got her cleaned up, got her dressed and told her that we were going to the hospital. My wife glared about and demanded to know who put Angel in charge. I said. "That since you wouldn't listen to me; I put Angel in charge!." My wife collapsed into Angel's arms, and said, "Thank God!, It's you!" We got her to the hospital.

No one says no to Angel. Apparently, even Ayesha must obey Angel.

Angel got on the phone and summoned her three older sisters to Mississippi. "For fun filled week-end of grocery shopping, laundry, cooking and house cleaning.", she told them.

The house had the foul smell of sickness. The cupboards were bare, as no shopping had been done in two months, and the laundry had not been done in two months. "You know dad, if mom is not around to tell him what do to, he's completely useless."

When one them attempted beg off, citing previous obligations, Angel just gripped the phone a little tighter and said, "Now listen to me, you bitch! Your mother is very ill. Your father needs you. If you are not here tomorrow morning, I'll come down there and drag you back here by your hair. Do you understand me?" The next morning, the reluctant one was the first one there.

No one says no to Angel.

When it looked like that we would not have a son, I poured everything I had into Angel. She can pass a football in a tight spiral for 50 yards and hit a receiver in the numbers. In baseball, she was a catcher, she can throw a base runner out at second base. Her fast ball has been clocked at 90mph. On the basketball court she was a consistent 3 point shooter. She could shoot either pistol or a rifle with deadly accuracy. And in the sweet science, she has a one two punch combination with a follow up right cross that most pugilists would die for. She can roll a 3,000 pound roll of paper and park it on a dime. She worked with me for a time, at Georgia-Pacific.

When she was pregnant with her first child, she came to me and told me that she was going to give me my first grandson, her sisters all had daughters, and he would be born on my birthday! Since was so early in her pregnancy, I told her that she shouldn't get her hopes up. That it was a tradition on both sides of family that the first born have always been female. And as far as being born on my birthday, well that was nature's decision. She gave me that look daughters reserve for their simple minded fathers and/or husbands; and I knew once that she was going to have it her way. And lo and behold - on my birthday, she gave me my first grandson, Zackary!

No one says no to Angel!

While I was visiting my bride in the hospital, she told me that if she died that she wanted me to re-marry. I was stunned. I told her that this was no time to even think about such a thing! She said she that understood that so she had given instructions our daughters, including Angel, what do to and the kind of woman to find for me. When I protested, she waved me off with, "Bill, you don't even buy your own underwear or clothes for that matter!" "You will not survive without a woman to tell you when to what or what to wear!"

This true - I am a complete NERD!

I said that this was foolish talk; that with my bad heart she would probably outlive me by years. And I told her that I: wanted her to re-marry. She cocked her head and looked at me and said, "What makes you think I would want to that?" I told her that I didn't want her to be alone and I wanted her to be happy. She looked me, dead in the eye, and said,"If you die, I will never re-marry!" I asked her why, and she said, "Because it takes too long to train you sonsofbitches!"

Ayesha, She Who Must Be Obeyed!

No one says no to Angel!

Such is the power of daughters!!
